Meeting

  • Welcome message
  • The 117th SRD Meeting Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to the SRD Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Noyori Conference Hall and Symposion Hall, Nagoya University (Higashiyama Campus, Chikusa, Nagoya) from September 22 (Sunday) to 25 (Wednesday), 2024. Both general presentations and presentations for the Outstanding Presentation Award are invited for oral presentations (10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A). Poster presentations are also invited. In addition, on the first day, a public lecture entitled "Sustainable Meat Future" will be held, in which SRD members will explain cutting-edge breeding technologies and issues that support beef production, and experts involved in the research and development of cultured and alternative meats will be invited to introduce their research.
We invite all of the SRD members and others to deepen active academic exchange through face-to-face meetings in Nagoya, which is relatively easy to reach from all over Japan. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.

  • Oral presentations: 10-min presentation with 5-min discussion will be allocated to each presentation. Several days before the presentation, each presenter should submit a PDF file for his/her presentation. Submission instructions will be provided at a later date. Especially applicants for the award competition are required to submit it by the due date. Otherwise (upon special request), his/her laptop computer can be directly connected to the on-site projector.
  • Poster presentations: For each of even and odd numbered posters, 90-min discussion time will be allocated. Poster boards (120-cm height, 90-cm width) and attaching materials (double-faced adhesive tapes) will be prepared.

  • Application qualification for the award competition
  • • Required qualification
There are 2 separate categories for the award competition (students and young regular members).
Applicants must be a member of the SRD. The age of candidates should be 32 or less as of 1st April 2024. No situation limited: e.g., salaried or unsalaried, regular staff or not, full-time or part-time worker, degree (bachelor, master or doctor). The person who engaged in the position besides scientific activities can also apply.
We will also accept applications from members whose research careers have been interrupted due to life events or other reasons. Applicants whose life events or research careers need to be considered will be asked to submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of recommendation from their advisor (or principal investigator). Click here to download the template. The acceptance of entries will be decided by majority vote after consultation between the Program Committee and the Meeting Organizing Committee. Please depend on us to do the categorizing for your presentation.
To encourage many young researchers, once awarded in the past, he/she cannot apply within the next 2 years. Application with substantially the same research that has previously received an award from any other academic societies will not be accepted. The presentation or award will be revoked if you do not meet the application requirement.

    • Evaluation Method
In each of the two categories, a primary review based on abstracts will be conducted for all submitted presentations. Selected presentations will then undergo a secondary review through oral presentations (determining the Outstanding Presentation Award winner in each category).
